Trading technology has worked on a number
of projects for central clearing and depository organisations. We
have a thorough understanding of the functionality required for
CSDs and the business issues they face today. Here are some examples
of the technical work that we have undertaken:
A Major European Depository
Trading Technology staff project-managed a 3-month
feasibility study for the future development of clearing, settlement
and depository functions for one of the largest continental European
national depositories. This included re-engineering both domestic
and cross-border settlement for bonds and equities. The work covered
both business and technical requirements, managing a team of 5-10
consultants and liasing with client management.
A Large Eastern European
Depository
Advised senior management on the development of integrated depository
functionality. The solution incorporated a complete new clearing,
settlement, depository and risk management system, covering securities
and derivatives processing. Also developed an integrated approach
to Operational Risk Management for the CSD.
Exchange linkage with
Euroclear and Cedelbank (now Clearstream)
Trading Technology staff performed the tender process for
the selection of depositories and defined the technical linkage
requirements for connection of the ICSDs to a trans-national equities
market based in Brussels. Both links were successfully established
and helped achieve a significant increase in equities settlement
business for both organisations.

BT/Syntegra
Crest
Project Trading Technology staff conducted a 12 month project
to provide strategic advice and project management to Syntegra, the
systems integration business of British Telecom (BT), Britain's largest
company, in their initiative to win the development of the central
application as well as the participant network elements of CREST,
the new clearing and settlement system for the UK equities market.
This project involved close contact with board-level Syntegra management
and senior management at the London Stock Exchange, the Bank of England,
Securities and Investment Board, the CREST Steering Committee and
UK market participants. Managed a multi-disciplinary team of 12 specialists. |
